TRAIL Institute

It aims to promote the emergence of AI talents and to carry out cutting-edge research in this field in French-speaking Belgium.

It brings together researchers working on AI within the five universities of the Walloon-Brussels Federation and  four Accredited Research Centres and whose research activities are in line with the vision of the TRAIL ecosystem.

The Institute will ensure the attraction and training of talents in French-speaking Belgium, and thus contribute to the appropriation of AI by companies and public services. The TRAIL Institute wants to advance research on strategic topics such as human-machine interactions, explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), or trusted AI protecting private data.  It aims to connect with the international AI ecosystem working on these topics.

It brings together doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and engineers working on various grants within research institutions.
