Leonidas moves into a new factory in Nivelles

In December 2023, Leonidas laid the foundation stone for its new factory in the Nivelles North business park, after 110 years in the Brussels region. The company is set to inaugurate its new facilities in 2026.

Leonidas decided to leave its two sites in Anderlecht and consolidate its activities in a new 30,000 m² factory in Wallonia. The €70 million investment, financed through company funds and bank loans, reflects the company’s ambitious vision for the future.

The new factory, designed by AAVO Architects and the engineering firm IPS, is targeting BREEAM Excellent certification, demonstrating Leonidas’ commitment to environmental sustainability. With nearly 1,000 m² dedicated to research and development, the site will strengthen its R&D hub and foster innovation in praline production.

This new factory is designed to support Leonidas’ growth both in Belgium and worldwide. It will optimise our production and logistics while providing a working environment that ensures the well-being of our employees

With more than 1,200 shops worldwide, including 400 in Belgium, Leonidas has experienced steady growth. In 2023, its turnover increased by 13–14%, confirming the continued popularity of its products.

The relocation will take place in two phases. All new production lines are expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2026, marking an important new chapter in the history of the iconic Belgian chocolatier.
