Kersia Strengthens Its Presence in Wallonia
Kersia, a global leader in food safety and biosecurity, inaugurated its Center for Food Safety Excellence (CFSE) in Seneffe at the end of May. This strategic facility is dedicated to innovation, training, and the validation of solutions for the food and beverage industry, reinforcing Wallonia’s position as a leading European hub for food safety innovation.

With this unique facility in Europe, French group Kersia is strengthening its ability to develop and validate practical solutions under conditions that closely replicate industrial environments. The Center for Food Safety Excellence (CFSE) combines scientific research, application testing, and training to support food and beverage manufacturers in meeting increasingly stringent health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The centre is organised around three complementary areas: an R&D laboratory dedicated to chemistry and microbiology, a semi-industrial application hall where solutions can be tested under conditions similar to real production lines, and training facilities for employees, customers, and partners. This integrated approach connects research, real-world validation, and skills development at the core of Kersia’s innovation model.
The CFSE also incorporates an engineering dimension, enabling the combined testing of hygiene equipment and solutions in near-industrial conditions. Kersia’s teams optimise operating parameters and tailor solutions to specific industrial constraints, improving performance and accelerating the transition from development to practical implementation.

Seneffe at the Heart of Kersia's Strategy
The choice of Seneffe builds on the longstanding expertise of Sopura, a Belgian specialist in hygiene solutions for the food and beverage industry that joined the Kersia Group in 2020. The establishment of the CFSE marks a significant step forward for the site, which is now positioned as an internationally recognised centre of expertise.
The new facility also reinforces Wallonia’s role as Kersia’s European hub for food safety innovation, highlighting the region’s growing importance in the development of advanced technologies and solutions for the global food industry.
